As Youth Advisor for A Circle of Women, New England, Casey
looks forward to developing enlightened leadership and peace building
with young women. Her past experience includes youth development
and education. She has worked with children of all ages in Brockton,
MA, Washington D.C, and Moldova. Her intrigue in multicultural
education was peeked while volunteering for DC Reads at Cavalry
Bilingual Multicultural Learning Center in Columbia Heights.
After graduating from Catholic University in
Washington, DC, Casey wanted to explore a new culture and experience
life in a developing world. The United States Peace Corps sent
her to live in Moldova, an impoverished country in Eastern Europe.
There she worked as a Community and Organizational Development
Consultant for the NGO, "Muza" Center for Intellectual and Creative
Development of Children. As a Peace Corps Volunteer in Moldova,
she was the Coordinator of the Gender and Development Committee,
and organizer of nationwide Women and Youth Leadership Programs.
More than 2 years living in Eastern Europe afforded
Casey the opportunity to travel extensively in Romania, Bulgaria,
Poland, Istanbul, Thailand, Nepal and more. She has also spent
six months in Western Australia, and volunteered in Ecuador. Casey
is excited to share the knowledge she has learned from being overseas
with A Circle of Women. “Peaceful leadership,” she says, “will
put our nation back on the right track, which is why A Circle
of Women is so important today.”
